Still Life With Cat is an alternative music project based in Pescara, Italy.
The idea of working on a brand new project started in 2013 when the lyricist Alessandro Di Zio and the guitarist, polystrumentist and composer Giampiero Mariani decided to merge their past experiences and began to write songs. The concept album “Megadream” took its primal shape and in 2015 the singer Lisa Monaco joined the project making her own contribution by giving new direction to vocal melodies and lighting up dark electronic atmospheres. The debut album “Megadream” about a dystopian world dominated by machines has been released 17th of November 2018.
The 2020 has been full of news for the Still Life With Cat project: the song “Brain”released 17th of September 2020 is an alternative and experimental pop song that previews the full length concept album “Bodies Stories” released 10th December 2021. 9 songs each one titled and related to a body part for reading and exploring the various aspects, feelings and behaviors of mankind. Each song tells a different story starting from the matter that builds humans, emotional matter. Dark atmospheres, mighty synth and electric guitars sounds, melancholic electric pianos and mellotron, but also catchy tunes, acoustic guitars, clear and elaborate harmonies of backing vocals, flutes and hornes make “Bodies Stories” a kaleidoscopic colorful album.
With “Bodies Stories” the Still Life With Cat alternative music project extends its collaborations calling inside the singer Marlò, the photographer Erika Secondino and the director and actress Gabrielle Finnegan who made the videos of “Brain”, “Liver” and “Heart” so as to compose a trilogy you can watch on Still Life With Cat official YouTube channel.
17th of December 2023 Still Life With Cat releases “Megadream 2023 Remix”, a powerful, brigther and cleaner new mix and master of the debut album.
The SLWC project is working at the moment on the arrangement of the third album titled “Kids”, collaborating with the amazing singers Erika Secondino and Manuela Limina.
The song “Rainbow Fishes” is upcoming.
